We decided to leave our bikes at the hotel after we checked out and go see Hamburg. I put our rainfly from our tent over the bikes to make it look less obvious.
We have walked for about 2 hours trying to find a bank that will change our cash into euro. We met this nice young lady that walked with us to show us the way, but we went to three banks, and none of them would change our money, we cannot take a train into the city without euro and we are getting tired, annoyed, and frustrated. On our walk we found this cool mural. You can't see from this angle, but the green part is about 6 feet behind the black and is separated by a sidewalk.
We had to turn back as we could not find a bank that would change our money, we decided to just get on the road as it is already 1 p.m. We stopped by this store and found that food is so much cheaper in Germany than in Denmark, we got a bunch of food for today and tomorrow and when we got to the line, they would not take Visa...
We finally tried to go back to the hotel and get a couple of drinks and tried to see if the owner could just charge us 50 euro extra and give us paper money. He said no, and the waitress said she would take us to a western union. We sped through the city as she was smoking and playing loud music. We finally found one as we went through a maze of a market and got 60 euro.
We tried to give her 5 euro for taking us but she just yelled NEIN!!!! NEIN!!! And walked away. I took a picture of her as she left us off back at the hotel. She was really sweet, and she doesn't know, but in this picture I left the 5 euro right next to her hahaha!
We have no idea where we are going. The google maps app took away the cycle option, and so we are just trying to get to the next city.
We found a cycle path to the city.
The ride is so nice now that we are not in the city. We are riding by dozens of apple orchards. This day is finally turning around.
We finally could not help it and snuck into one.
Selfie!
We got the booty!
We rode for another 2 hours and low-and-behold, we are now on the route, the only thing is, Germany does not label the route you are on like in Denmark, so we are guessing the whole time and just riding towards the next city.
Not too far from the next campsite.
Made it into town and set up camp. we had a date with a cheap local dinner, Bratwurst, so freakin good!!! Best meal of the trip!
